Addiction Treatment Rooted in Reality

My Addiction Physician™ offers a unique treatment plan that is rooted in proven biological methods and the latest scientific research. Our techniques are derived from the understanding that an individual can change their behavior and achieve independence through conscious reconnection with their breath and other physiological processes. This is because, while most events in life are either neutral or positive, our brains operate from an inherently negative bias commonly referred to as the “fight, flight, or freeze” concept.

The more opportunities we take in our daily lives to exercise states of calm, caring, and contentment through regular strength training and Resonance Frequency Breathing, the greater amounts of the BDNF protein are produced in our brains for positive thinking and the more we improve our Implicit Memory, which shapes our reactions to our experiences. When we improve our Implicit Memory, we recognize how rapidly our thoughts fire in moments of increased stress and can therefore gain the skill of slowing down our heart-rate, and therefore our thoughts, through conscious breathing. This then allows us to gain awareness of and control of our responses to our experiences and increases our independence from undesirable and addictive behaviors.

Additionally, My Addiction Physician recognizes that addiction affects more than just the addicted individual and so employs Family-Centered Treatment to encourage growth and healing within the whole family.
